A project focusing on testing the format of collaboration within a group show.

Four artists are selected on the basis of certain similarities in their working attitude and given a set of working conditions: the build-up and collaborative period of the show runs for two weeks in 1646; nothing is prepared in advance.

This way, 1646 tries to emphasize an interaction between individual artists’ practices and create a dialogue before the show to let common points and resonance between the work of each individual arise. It is from such newly found affinities and intersections that something withing the group can take form.
