On Sunday 17 April Stroom Den Haag and 1646 presented an afternoon program as part of the program Attempts to Read the World (Differently), developed by Stroom Den Haag.
At 1646, Maaike Lauwaert presented a program inspired by the exhibition of Dunja Herzog The Word For World Is Forest and invited artist Eric Peter for a performance. He recited Echoes from the Jungle (2015) and showed the work Familiar Strangers: Conversations on the Near Future (Ch.7) (2015-2016). Both works are inspired by and made during his travels in the Amazon region. Lauwaert created a zine for all participants containing articles and stories that she and Herzog exchanged and some memories of Herzog.
Prior to this event the audience was invited to attend the presentation of Céline Condorelli at Stroom Den Haag, also part of the program Attempts to Read the World (Differently), developed by Stroom Den Haag: a Brazilian brunch with pãoginhos gravidos, pão de queijo, Brazilian Bocca-coffee by Lola Bikes & Coffee, & music, performances and conversations by and with Céline Condorelli and Martin La Roche
