Nest and 1646 worked together on a large scale exhibition in the public space of The Hague with work by graduating art students. Over 300 students submitted and works were on display at 600 locations across town.
We believe that the current generation of graduates benefits from greater visibility. Given that travel was still not encouraged and the graduation exhibitions could only be visited with a time slot and to a limited extent, Nest and 1646 decided to join forces to show graduates throughout The Hague.
Nest and 1646 invited BA / MA students of the class of 2021, who make autonomous work, from all art academies in the Netherlands to submit photos of their graduation work, or work related to it, to be selected for an extensive exhibition in the public space of The Hague. All entries were also be exhibited online.
During The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend from 8 to 11 July 2021 in The Hague, posters with the graduation work were be displayed throughout the city.A selection of all the graduations were be distributed at 600 poster spots and windows in the public space of The Hague.
Mister Motley wrote articles that contextualize the selected artworks and graduates of all the art schools.
All applications were also given a podium on the Instagram account @callforgraduates where the work of all contributors was shown.
