Lucy Beech And Edward Thomasson

Lucy Beech and Edward Thomasson have collaborated on performance projects since 2007. Their work is characterised by choreographed group activities that look at how movement is used when language fails or seems hard to summon. Initially presented live on Museum Night 2016, their new work for the gallery saw a group of performers playing movement based games in an attempt to negotiate and demarcate interpersonal boundaries. Following this live presentation, a site-specific video documentation of the work was installed in the gallery. This work continues Beech and Thomasson’s investigation into how individuals engage in collective activities.
