1646 is excited to announce that Ádám Albert has been selected as the artist for our residency exchange programme in collaboration with Budapest Galéria. Adam will be joining us in The Hague from June to July.
Ádám’s interests lie in the study of global trade and cultural transfer processes. During the residency, he will focus on researching the phenomenon of blue-and-white glazed porcelain and its journey through China, Japan, the Middle East, the Netherlands and Portugal. He will critically look at the appropriation and possible misunderstandings that lead to the adoption of this cultural pattern.
The fully funded residency is generously supported by the Dutch Embassy in Hungary and Stroom The Hague.
