Conversation Piece with Francesco Garutti, Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys
For the Conversation Piece around the the current show of Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys, curator and critic Francesco Garutti has been invited to give his view on their work.
Francesco Garutti (b.1979, Milan) is art and architecture editor for Mousse Magazine and Young Curator 2014 at CCA Montreal. He’s been working as Art Editor (2011-2013) at Abitare magazine and he’s since 2010 co-professor of Museum Theory at NABA – New Academy of Fine Arts, Milan (Department of Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies). He worked as architect and researcher for display and art-space projects at Peter Zumthor Architekturbüro in Switzerland between 2007 and 2008 and his essays and critical papers on art and architecture have been published among others by Bedford Press (London), Mousse Publishing (Milan), Skira Rizzoli (New York) and Grotto Publications (Brussels). Between 2011 and 2012 was Zurich Correspondent for Domus magazine and in 2012 he has curated the archive of “Portikus Under Construction” at Peep-Hole, Milan. Together with Yann Chateigné Tytelman, was nominator and curator for the 9th Furla Prize Edition for Emerging Artists 2013. “Fairland – Insights and Outlooks on the future of art fairs” a book edited by Francesco Garutti and published by Walther König will be released in 2014.
