For the second year running, 1646 has been working together with Kooshk Residency (Tehran) to realize an artistic exchange between The Netherlands and Iran.
While Dutch artist Quinsy Gario is currently hosted by Kooshk to develop new work in Tehran, Iranian artist Farahnaz Jalilvand has been our guest in The Hague for the past few weeks, drawing inspiration from by the surroundings and the cultural offerings of The Hague and The Netherlands.
Are you curious to see what Jalilvand has been making during her stay at 1646? You are very welcome to have a look during her open studio, coming Sunday 14 October, from 2 -4 pm at 1646. Jalilvand will be present to show her latest works and give further explanation.
Kooshk residency, established in mid 2014, is a cultural and artistic space in Tehran. Kooshk provides space for artists, curators, researchers, writers and filmmakers to encourage inter-cultural dialogue and art creation. Kooshk strives to contribute to development of Iranian art and culture through participation in international exchange programs with cultural institutes worldwide. These exchange programs allow blending of cultures, provoke creativity and foster beneficial connections among nations.
